Ellis [1][2]shielded his eyes from the midday sun as he climbed out of his vehicle, adjusting his blazer and tucking his shirt into the front of his slacks. After he slipped his keys into his pocket, he grabbed a file folder and strolled towards a half-constructed building with shirtless men loitering around the concrete foundation. Dark eyes scanned the area as he smoothed one hand over his short hair and peeked at his watch. Twelve-fifteen.

The meeting with the contractor had been scheduled for twelve-noon exactly, meaning Ellis was fifteen minutes late. He had called, left a voice message, and sent a text message, but the man had not replied to any of his methods of contact. It was his first day back in the workforce, the first day at a new position, and Ellis was a bundle of nerves. His company had promoted him from general designer to a contract administrator, and he had taken over a nice stack of projects leftover from the man he had replaced. Ellis had spent the morning reorganizing files and arranging meetings with his new clients.

By the time eleven-forty-five came, Ellis was ready for his lunch break and some fieldwork. He packed his notes in a leather briefcase and tossed them in the backseat of his car. His first client was a contractor by the name of Rex Banks.

Rex Banks was working through a building contract for a new health food store.

As the shirtless men settled with packed lunches and sparkling drinks, Ellis approached them, gripping the file folder in his hands. One of the men rubbed a rough hand down his work slacks and studied Ellis. Feathery, white eyebrows framed his weathered features.

“Can I help ya, kid?” he graveled, popping a potato chip from his lunch into his tobacco-wrinkled lips.

“Uh. Y-yeah. Yes. I’m looking for Mister Banks?”

  “Which’n?”

  Ellis blinked. “Excuse me?”

  “Which’n ya lookin’ for?”

“I’m-I-” Ellis glimpsed his files before looking back at the man. “Rex? I’m looking for Mister Rex Banks.”

“Ah. Y’lookin’ for boss. He’s on his way. He got caught up with somethin’. He said you could take a look ‘round the field while you waited.”

“R-right.” Ellis squinted down at his notes. “S-sure, I can just take a look around, I guess. Um, did he say how long he was going to be?”

The older gentleman offered Ellis a lopsided grin. “He didn’t, kid. Take a look ‘round. He’ll be on in a minute.”

“Um. C-cool.” He scrunched his forehead together. “I’ll take a look around, then.” He scanned the area. “I’ll be over this way.” Crossing his legs, he backed away from the worker, stumbling over the points of his box-toed loafers.

Ellis stepped onto the concrete foundation of the building and circled the wooden frame, comparing what was standing to the building notes he had. He made notations and chewed his wooden drafting pencil. The building had pages of plans and even more pages of adjustment notes. Ellis rubbed his forehead, smoothing his eyebrows. “Fuck,” he muttered, sagging his shoulders in a slow exhale.

“What was that?” A brawny man in a fitted shirt and a pair of faded jeans rounded the corner into the half-built room. His gravelly voice lifted at the end in a casual tease.

Ellis turned on his heels, haphazardly tucking the blueprints and notes back in his folder. “H-hi. Sorry.” He extended a hand to the stranger. “A-are you Rex? Sorry, Mister Banks?”

“Yup.” Rex extended his hand. “You’re Ellis Davis, yeah?”

“Er-yes.” Ellis shook his hand, rubbing his soft palms over Rex’s calloused skin. “Your-uh-I was told I could take a look around.”

“Sure. You’re my new contract administrator, yeah?” Rex squinted brilliant green eyes. A gust of wind tousled his bedroom curls and cooled the forming sheen of sweat against his skin.

“Y-yes. I, um.” Ellis held up the folder.

“Good. We’re just trying to keep this build on track. It’s a big project, and as you know, little things have to be changed and remeasured as things go on. You’re good with numbers and detail, huh?”

  “Y-yes.” Ellis squeaked.

Rex squinted, nodding and smirking. “Good.” He glimpsed Ellis. “How long have you been an architect?”

“You’re asking for my credentials? You hired me. I didn’t hire you.” Ellis rolled his eyes, adjusting the blueprints in the folder and recovering from his initial surprise. His heart pounded in his chest as Rex moved around him, and the sea salt and sun clinging to Rex’s skin teased his nose.

  Rex chuckled. “Touché.”

“I’ve been working as an architect for a while.”

  “How long is a while?”

Ellis shrugged, chewing his bottom lip. “A while. My father is an architect. I was working at a firm when I was nineteen years old. I passed the certification while I was still in school.”

Rex rolled his eyes to the ceiling.

“You’re trying to do the math, aren’t you? Fifteen.”

  “Fifteen what?”

“I was in college studying architecture at fifteen. And I was working at nineteen at my father’s firm.”

“So, you’re some kind of child prodigy or something?”

Ellis shrugged again, thumbing the corners of the manila folder. “No. I’m really not. I just studied a lot as a child.”

“Yeah? C’mon. I’ll give you a tour of the place.” Rex touched the small of Ellis’ back, and a shockwave of pleasure went through him.

“Ah-ha.” Ellis backed up, clutching the file folder to his body. His cheeks and the tips of his ears burned. “Sure. I’ll, ah-sure.”

  “What?”

  “Nothing. I’m sorry, it’s nothing.”

Rex studied him again, and his cheeks ignited under his gaze. “All right then.” He hooked his thumbs in his belt loops and bumped Ellis’ shoulder as he circled him, leading him through the skeleton of the building. His work boots vibrated the subflooring. “So, Brainiac. Do you still work for your father’s firm?”

“Um, no, actually. He sold the company a few years ago. I was a design architect and a production architect, and now I’m a contract administrator.”

“What’s the difference between a design architect and a production architect?” Rex ducked his head under a support beam and narrowed his eyes as they strolled through a patch of beaming sunlight. They were alone deep within the complex design of the building.

“A design architect actually gets to design things. Like actually drawing buildings. It’s what you think of when you hear someone is an architect. A production architect is all the technical stuff. A production architect turns the drawing into something you could actually build. And then you have the contract administrator.” Ellis smiled. “Contract administrators turn it into something more than numbers and formulas.”

  “You’re a brainiac.”

“Stop calling me that.” Ellis shook his head, frowning.

  “Why not?”

“Because I don’t want you to call me that. My name works.”

  “Hmm. All right, then.”

“Y-yeah. Um, thanks.” Ellis chewed the inside of his cheek. “What about you? How’d you, um, become a construction contractor?”

Rex grinned. His prominent brows relaxed around his sleepy eyes. “I’ve been a construction worker a
ll my life. I’ve worked for many companies and finally got fed up. I figured I could work up a company better, so I took some classes, got my business degree, and started this thing.”

  “So, you’re a self-made man?”

  The brawny man’s eyes sparkled. “Everyone’s a self-made man.”

“I know, but you’re really self-made. No one helped you.”

Rex shrugged. “I guess you’re right. I like how it sounds coming off your tongue though.”

  “Oh?”

“Yeah. When you say it, I forget all about those nights I was eating beans and rice or rice and beans.”

Ellis chuckled, tapping one of the one-by-four posts. He tipped his head down, but eyed Rex out of the corner of his eyes. “Just you?”

  “What do you mean?”

“I mean, what about a girlfriend or something?”

“Or something?” Rex lifted his eyebrows. A lopsided grin spread over his tanned face. Dimples speared his cheeks.

“Y-yeah. Or, um, maybe a boyfriend, I guess.”

  “Are you always this awkward?”

“W-what?” Ellis’ eyes widened. “N-no. I-just, no. I’m-I’m not.” He scrubbed his flushed cheeks, rubbing his hand over the back of his neck.

“I started the company after I broke up with my boyfriend. Or, well, he broke up with me.” Rex lifted his meaty shoulders.

Ellis’ lips moved over silent words as he peered around the construction site again. “W-why?”

“Why did he break up with me?”

  He nodded.

“Well, he told me it wasn’t working out. You know, he and I were just too damn different, but I think he had some help with that opinion. I think he was cheating.”

  “Oh. I-I’m sorry.”

  “Don’t be. I’m self-made, remember?”

  “R-right.”

Rex ducked out the back door of the building into the sunlight again. Ellis followed him, and they stood two thousand feet from the construction crew. The building blocked the pair from Rex’s team, and the back side of the building had composite-board siding nailed up. Rex leaned against it, folding his arms across his chest. “What about you? Who’s warming your bed at night?”

“Mmmm.” Ellis shook his head, pressing his lips in a firm line.

“You’re not a virgin, are you?” Rex lifted a single eyebrow.

  “If I was?”

Rex eyed him. “If you were, I’d feel bad about thinking about taking you against the siding here. I’d feel really bad about wondering how you taste.” He licked his lips. “But I’d only feel a little bad about wanting your cum down my throat.”

Ellis froze, closing his eyes and shivering. “I-I-oh my god.”

“You’re kidding. You’re not seriously a virgin, are you?”

“Ugh.” Ellis rubbed an arm over his forehead. “My god. No, I’m not a virgin, and this conversation is inappropriate.”

“Yeah, I know. It makes it better.”

“What happened to the other contractor you had? Did you sleep with him?”

“Sure didn’t. There were some differences of opinion when it came to doing work.”

  “What do you mean?”

“I mean he didn’t show up when he was supposed to. He wasn’t doing his job, so we had to make some adjustments.”

  “Adjustments like hire someone else?”

“Pretty much. Look, we’re both adults here. It’s only awkward if we make it awkward.”

  “I-”

“Tell me you’re not interested and you haven’t been eyeing me this whole time.”

“I-I haven’t.” Ellis sucked his bottom lip, peering around the private little area. “I haven’t.”

“All right, well then there were some spots I wanted you to take a look at. They need to be reevaluated because of some mistakes my team made.” Rex hiked his thumb back towards the door. He touched Ellis’ shoulder, rubbing his hand over it.

“Ah,” Ellis murmured. Rex’s touch painted fire across his shoulders. It woke his body up in a way no one else had before.

“It’s over here.” Rex jogged inside.

Ellis followed, dropping his head back on his shoulders with a low groan. “I’m not-hang on.”

  “What?”

Ellis stared at Rex, looking him over from head to toe. He couldn’t deny his interest or his own hunger. Rex’s warm skin and pulsing virility reminded Ellis how long it’s been since he’d been under another person, since he’d thrown his head back in ecstasy. “Are-are you a catcher or a pitcher?”

“We’re using sports metaphors, now?” Rex grinned slowly.

  “I-I mean. I-I-don’t-”

“You want to flip a coin and see what happens? Or you can go, then I can go, then you can go, again. Or, hell. You can go all three times. Or, I can go once, you can go twice.”

Ellis sighed. “There are twenty-seven different combinations if you are set on three rounds.”

  “Kinda. Can you last?”

“If I can’t, then I’ll be on the bottom the last two, and you can do all the work.” Ellis winked, then looked away. His cheeks flamed with a blush.

  “All right.”

  “W-what about your team?”

Rex squinted. “Ah, they got it.” He closed the distance between their bodies and rested a hand on the back of Ellis’ neck. His thumb stroked the skin behind his ear, and Ellis smelled cinnamon and tobacco on his lips.

  “You-you smoke?”

“Cigars, sometimes.” His lips swept over Ellis’ lips.

“Oh. A-are we allowed to kiss?”

“Didn’t know there were rules to this.” He browsed Ellis’ jawline.

  “I-I thought in one-time things y-you shouldn’t kiss.”

“Damn, you talk a lot.” Rex bit into Ellis’ neck.

“Ahh. I-I don’t. But I don’t, like, hook up with people or-or whatever.”

“Stop thinking. You’re thinking too much.” Rex stroked Ellis’ cheek. He touched his rough thumb to Ellis’ lips. “I want you to enjoy it. I want to give you orgasms. As many orgasms as you can handle. I want to give you that.”

“Haah.” Ellis shivered, swallowing around a knot in his throat. “Oh-okay. Okay, y-yes. I want you to.”

“Good.” Rex kissed him again and sank to his knees in front of Ellis.

“W-why?” Ellis closed his eyes, swallowing again and resting a hand on Rex’s shoulder, stroking his tanned skin.

  “Why what?”

“W-why do you want to give me orgasms?”

Rex wet his lips. “Because I’m that kinda guy.” He grinned and thumbed the button of Ellis’ slacks, sliding the metal zipper open. Ellis’ cock greeted him, straining against fitted briefs. He mouthed Ellis’ shaft from the outside of his briefs.

“A-ah.” Ellis combed through Rex’s curls. His thumb traced the other man’s hairline. His cock hardened more as Rex teased him, dotting kisses along the strained shaft and tonguing the outline of the mushroom head.

  “You want to know how?”

  “Oh. Y-yes.”

With a slight quirk of his lips, Rex tugged Ellis’ briefs down with his teeth. The cool air tortured his newly exposed skin, and Ellis’ hand fisted in Rex’s hair. Rex groaned against him. Ellis arched his hips, and tight muscles jerked Rex closer. “Fuck.” Rex shivered, gripping Ellis’ hips.

“Sorry.” Ellis dropped his head back on his shoulders as a bead of precum leaked from the head of his cock. His thighs tightened.

“Nah. You’re delicious. I want to suck your cock off first, then finger your ass.” Rex inched Ellis’ briefs down a little more, licking over the first inch of his shaft and the head of his cock. A breeze of cool air followed his warm tongue, and Ellis melted, rocking back on his heels. “How do you feel about me sucking you off?”

  “I-I like it,” Ellis murmured.

With a nod, Rex fished Ellis’ cock out of his briefs, bunching them under his balls. His lips swept over Ellis’ length followed by his h
and and he sealed his lips around Ellis’ cock. His cock disappeared in Rex’s mouth, inch by inch until the head of Ellis’ cock bumped the back of his throat. He sealed his lips, working his tongue against him.

Shivers trailed up and down Ellis spine as he watched Rex work him over. Between his skilled mouth and the sight of the burly construction worker on his knees in front of him, Ellis’ orgasm raced up on him, and his thighs quaked under Rex’s strong grip. “C-close,” Ellis whispered.

Rex’s lips quirked up, and he sucked him harder, squeezing his tight asscheeks and holding him in place as he assaulted him with pleasure. Rex stole Ellis’ orgasm, and Ellis panted as he came and watched Rex’s hungry mouth work around him and his throat swallow his cum. Rex licked his lips when he retreated, sitting back on his heels with red cheeks and shining eyes. “Thanks for the warning.”

“Ah-ah.” Ellis’ cheeks burned. “Yeah. C-can I fuck you?”

Rex rumbled, stroking Ellis’ still rock-hard length. His tongue darted from his lips and swirled around his cock. He kissed his soft skin and looked up at Ellis again. “You want to fuck me in my own building?”

Ellis bit his bottom lip. “Um, yes? Is there a specific protocol f-for this?”

A chuckle. “Nah. You want it, you got it, but you still owe me one.”

  “One what?”

“One orgasm. I said I was going to suck you off then finger you until you cum.” Rex stood up, palming his bulging cock and glancing around the area.

  “Ah. Right.”

“Yeah. Come here.” Rex crooked a finger to him and ripped his shirt over his head, exposing braided muscles. He approached a paneled wall and spread his shirt over the dusty foundation. Rex sat down and leaned back against the wall. When Ellis joined him, he yanked the other man into his lap, pressing himself into Ellis’ back.

Ellis whimpered. He raked his teeth over his swollen lips, and his already spent cock tensed as a wave of anticipation went through him. “Y-yes?” He turned his head to Rex, fluttering his eyes closed.

“Take your pants off, and spread your legs,” Rex purred, kissing his jawline.

Ellis’ jaw clenched and the tips of his ears burned. His racing heart slammed against his lean ribcage. “Oh.” He shuffled out of his slacks and his briefs, exposing his lower half. He sucked in a deep breath and opened his legs.
